Description
Painting workshop – plein air and studio – Wednesday 4th September 2019
This is a one off full day workshop with landscape painter Andrew Barrowman. It is limited to a maximum of 8 people. The morning we will be sketching around Carn Brea and Wheal Uny in Redruth. In the afternoon we will use our sketches to work from as reference as we begin an oil painting in the Art Room at Krowji.
9.30am meet at Krowji and check our equipment (travel light with sketchbook, pencils, pastels or watercolours etc)
9.45am head off towards Wheal Uny and around Carn Brea stopping at regular points along the way to make sketches.
12.30pm – 1.30pm lunch break (cafe available at Krowji or bring packed lunch)
1.30pm – 4.30pm choose a sketch to work from and begin developing it into an oil painting in the Art Room at Krowji. Coffee, tea and biscuits included during the afternoon.
You will need to have a certain level of fitness as we will be out working en plein air for at least 2 and a half hours.
Please bring your own materials –
Outdoors: sketchbook, your preferred sketching medium/s.
Studio: canvas, oil paints, easel/table easel, brushes, etc…
Please have wet weather waterproof gear ready – just in case. We will still go ahead whatever the weather – if it is really bad we will work in Andrew’s studio during the morning session.
Please note: I will need at least 4 people to run the workshop. I will confirm it is going ahead on Tuesday 3rd September and if cancelled I will issue full refunds to those that had booked. Please check your emails on the 3rd September for confirmation.
Parking available on site at Krowji
