Painting mainly in oils he strives to capture the changing light and rugged coastal
landscapes and seascapes in a realistic style of painting. Painting outdoors (en
plein air) helps to achieve this, getting close to the subject and creating a first
hand visual memory that cannot be gained working purely from photographic reference.
Andrew is often painting on the Cornwall coast or around loe pool where he usually
he finds an interesting view point to paint from - often hidden from the public gaze.
Navigating through the web site you will find four galleries - ‘coastal / seascape’,
‘landscape / inland’, ‘wildlife’ and ‘New Work’. The most recent paintings (often
still wet!) are displayed in the New Work gallery. Forthcoming exhibitions and projects
are in the events section. Please enjoy your visit.
